Kenya Adventure Week Itinerary
October 16-20: Watamu
Watamu is a small coastal town in Kenya, north of Mombasa. It’s known for Watamu Marine National Park and Reserve, which has 3 bays: Watamu, Blue Lagoon and Turtle. Sandy beaches and coral gardens are the defining features. Seabirds, as well as green and hawksbill turtles, inhabit Mida Creek with its sand flats and mangrove forest.
After the wedding, on October 16, we are going to fly out to the Kenya coast. The coast accommodation options are staffed houses. We have reserved a few beachfront houses for a four night stay for us and whoever would like to join us.
October 10-13: Safari in the Masai Mara
The Masai Mara is one of the most famous and important wildlife conservation and wilderness areas in Africa, world-renowned for its exceptional populations of lion, African leopard, cheetah and African bush elephant.
We will spend the days seeing incredible wildlife, but there will be plenty of time for some rest and relaxation.
We have reserved a booking for a 3-night private safari experience with Nigel Archer Safaris who will set up a private luxury camp just for our group. The camp will have hot showers, running water, and whatever number of tents we need.
October 13-15: Wedding Weekend in Naivasha
On October 13, we head to Naivasha to the Olerai House on the Sirocco Wildlife Sanctuary in Naivasha - roughly two hours north of Nairobi.
Details:
October 13: Bonfire + Welcome Drinks
October 14: Wedding Celebration
October 15: Back to Nairobi
